Thompson Turner Construction was commissioned by Beaufort County Schools to provide CM At-Risk services for design and construction phases of the MC Riley Childhood Center. The prototypical design was site adapted to a site in Bluffton.
The project was constructed within budget and under the GMP. During construction, Thompson Turner Construction demonstrated an ability to operate in close proximity to operating schools by coordinated such issues as morning and afternoon pickup of students, devising clever methods of utilizing existing retention ponds until new ponds could be constructed to accommodate phased construction, as well as working around portables occupied by students on existing campuses. MC Riley Early Childhood Center is located near busy residential communities.
MC Riley Early Childhood Center is located in the Bluffton historic area thus requiring countless reviews with the local historic architectural review boards. Thompson Turner Construction was instrumental in assisting the architect in delivering design changes that cost effectively modified the prototypical school to fit with in the ARB requirements. MC Riley is LEED Silver Certified.
